Flighted Tournament Rules

  1. There will be five flights: A, B, C, D, and E. Flights will generally be created so that handicaps within a flight differ by no more than two strokes, except for the highest handicap flight.
  2. Because Flight E may contain a wider handicap range, the tournament administrator may award one or two adjustment strokes when appropriate. Any adjustment strokes will be deducted from the player’s final score.
  3. Players compete only against others within their own flight to determine the Flight Winner.
  4. Whenever possible, the League Starter will schedule players within the same flight together. If this is not possible, the Starter will attempt to place players with at least one member of their flight.
  5. Handicaps are used only to create the flights. Once play begins, the lowest raw score wins the flight.
  6. Ties will be resolved using the league’s normal tie-breaking procedures.
  7. Prize money will be awarded only to players who win their flight.
  8. This tournament does not count toward the season championship.
