The Season Champion is the person who has accumulated the most points in the year’s tournaments.
Three points are awarded for a first place, including ties, two for a second place, including ties, and one for a third place, including ties. Note that this is different from how tournament prize money is allocated, where ties are broken so only one individual or team is in each place.
If a tournament consists of teams rather than individuals, then each person on the team is awarded the points for the place the team finished. If more than one individual or team tied for a place, then each individual or team receives the points for that place.
For example, if for a tournament of two-person teams, team 1 and team 2 tied for first, and teams 3, 4, and 5 tied for second, and team 6 was alone in third, the four people on teams 1 and 2 would each receive 3 points, the six people on teams 3, 4, and 5 would each receive 2 points, and the two people on team 6 would each receive 1 point.
