Tournament Format
This tournament is an individual net format. Sharp-eyed folks may have noticed that this is a change from the original schedule. We will still have all the same tournaments, just on different dates.
Luncheon will be served
Sandwiches and soft drinks will be available in the clubhouse after your round. Dues for this tournament will be $10 to help defray the luncheon costs.
Rain, Rain, Go away (maybe?)
It looks like there will be at least some rain on tournament day, but the weather will be warm. At this point, we are planning to go ahead with the tournament unless the forecast becomes dramatically worse. Bring your rain gear!
Ground under repair:
The area just before and to the right of the 8th green is a bit of a dumping ground. If you hit your ball into a trench in that area or into one of the piles (brush, dirt, wood chips, or hay), that is considered to be ground under repair. You may mark the nearest point of relief away from the trench or pile and then drop your ball within one club length no nearer the hole without penalty. The nearest point of relief is the closest spot where the obstruction does not interfere with your stance or swing.
Note that just hitting into a flat area or into the bushes somewhere in the vicinity of the piles does not entitle you to free relief unless the pile interferes with your stance or swing. You can always choose to play the ball where it lies or take a penalty stroke for an unplayable lie.
