A total of 19 teams made up the entrants to our tournament on August 7, 2023. Prizes went to the three 2-person teams with the lowest total net scores. First place went to Tom Gannnon and Ken Fitzpatrick. They had a total net score of 63. They each win $40.
Jim Kirk and Janice Savitz also had a total net score of 63. Both teams had a total net 10 on hole #2, the first tie-breaker hole. Tom and Ken had a net 8 on hole #1, the next tie-breaker hole. Tom had a bogey for net par and Ken had a natural par for a net eagle! Jim and Janice had a net 11 to slide into second place. They get $30 apiece.
Ros Paine and Mary Snow, and Ric Magro and John Kane both shot a total net 69. Ros and Mary won the tie-breaker with a net 9 on hole #2 to Ric and John’s net 10. Ros and Mary each win $20.
Richard Wetherbee was closest to the pin on #7 at 22′ 1″. Mark Thompson was only 6′ 9″ from the pin on #9 to win that hole. They each get $15.
The season-long championship race has tightened up a bit. Rick Atkins leads Ric Magro by two points, and Ken Han, Tom Gannon, and Arthur Daltas are a point behind Ric.
