April 10th Highlights

There was a short frost delay, but once the sun came out it was a beautiful day. The scores warmed up with the weather. Walter Kerr had the day’s low net with 33, followed by Dick Conant at 34, and Walter Allen and Ken Han at 35.

Unlike our first couple of outings, there was a lot of avian life on the course. A turkey was spotted on #2. Dick Conant scored a birdie on #9. Group 2 scored birdies on 3 successive holes–Mike Mickelsen on #5 (chip in), Dave McDonald on #6 (great drive to within 2 feet of the pin), and Mark Thompson (excellent second shot a few feet from the pin). Eric Baatz also birdied #7 with a little help from Frank Lim’s ball that Eric hit to keep his own ball from going off the green.

But the biggest bird of the day was Walter Allen’s eagle on #8! Bill Sciarretta reports that Walter hit an excellent drive. His approach shot rolled a little ways up the hill and back down into the hole! Congratulations, Walter!
