Highlights for May 4, 2023
Seven teams entered the year’s first Scramble Tournament and the competition was fierce. Four teams tied with a total score of 35. One team finished one stroke back at 36 and the other two were just one more shot back at 37.
In the case of ties, tournament prize money is determined by results on the toughest holes. Team #3 (Tom Gannon, Walter Kerr, Andy Rittenburg) prevailed for first place by shooting a birdie on hole #2. Each player walks away with $15. Team #7 (Rick Atkins, Ken Han, and John Kane) got second place and $10 each by scoring a birdie on #4 (the fifth tie-breaker hole!). Team #6 (Mark Koepper, Dan Wiseman, Ted Wales, and Dave McDonald) won 3rd place worth $5 each.
David Black got closest to the pin on #7 with a distance of 13′ 6″. Ted Wales won on #9 with a distance of 19′. They each win $15.
It doesn’t always happen, but everybody who entered got at least one point toward the League Championship. Everyone on teams that shot 35 got 3 points. Two points each went to the team with 36 and the teams with 37 got one point each. Click here to see the interactive details.
